This happened to my wife and I. I believed this would be interesting for those of you that put your trust in this company.
This is accurate...
Don't let the liberal media brain wash you, your family or your friends. Remember that just because they say it is so DOESN'T MAKE IT SO!!!

===== ===== ===== ===== ===== ===== ===== ===== ===== ===== =====

My wife, Sandra and I were interested
in taking a trip to South Dakota and she used, Orbitz.com.
Orbitz promises, low prices, results guaranteed:

1)     Sandra made our reservations on April 3rd, 2007 for our vacation on June 10th thru the 14th, 2007.

2)     Our daughter decided to get married during our vacation.

3)     We cancelled online with Orbitz and we called the Hotel, the Holiday Inn Express at Hill City, South Dakota to let them know we were cancelling, doing both on May 18th, 2007. We received a cancellation confirmation from Orbitz.

4)     We believed Orbitz would refund our money for that reservation and just charge a small service charge (The Orbitz.com webpage says it would charge a $25.00 fee for cancellations.) and proceeded to again use them to reschedule our vacation for the following week at another hotel, this time in Rapid City, South Dakota.

5)     Orbitz rated the Thunderbird Lodge in Rapid City five (5) STARS, with a free deluxe continental breakfast.

6)     We proceeded to get our daughter married and the following week went on vacation thinking everything was "peachy-keen"!

When we got to Rapid City, the Thunderbird Lodge had been sold to some other company (they were in the process of putting up another sign and we drove by it three times before noting that it was our hotel!!) and the free deluxe continental breakfast turned out to be Kix cereal, Cheerios, small chocolate donuts with coffee or hot tea!

NOT EXACTLY WHAT ORBITZ.COM LED US TO BELIEVE IT WAS!

We stayed there as scheduled and once we returned from vacation Sandra found in her credit card bill no refund from Orbitz and they had also charged us a $15.00 cancellation fee on top of the $370.14 that they had not reimbursed to us.

Sandra called Orbitz.com and was finally told that they would remove the $15.00 cancellation fee but would not reimburse to us ANY of the $370.14 that they had charge us for the hotel reservations!

Be WARNED about Orbitz.com! Don't end up SCREWED like we did. Use another company but do so with care.....

If enough people read this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe good changes will evolve.
